1952 Born in Hamburg; daughter of Liebfriede Bernstiel and Otto Lindig.
1973 - 1980 Attending the Universität Hamburg and the Hamburg Academy for Fine Arts to become a schoolteacher; additional studies majoring in photography.
1980 - 1982 Various photographic projects and exhibitions.
1982 - 1987 Learning and working at the Keramikatelier (ceramics’ studio) Liebfriede Bernstiel in Ahrensburg, near Hamburg.
1983 - 1992    Annual exhibitions with Liebfriede Bernstiel in Ahrensburg and participation at the annual arts and crafts fairs at the Hamburg Museum for the Arts and Crafts( Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe).
1989 Group- exhibition at the Stormarnhaus, Bad Oldesloe, Schleswig- Holstein with Liebfriede Bernstiel and Ulrich Sack (paintings).
1992 Studio/workshop-exhibition in Hiddingen, Lower-Saxony.
1994 Purchase by Museum for Applied Arts Gera (Museum für Angewandte Kunst Gera)
1997 Head of the pottery-workshop at the Hamburg Academy for fine Arts;
Exhibition with Ulrich Sack at the Galerie Laik, Koblenz.
1997 Exhibition with Ulrich Sack at the Galerie Laik, Koblenz.
Since 1999 Annual studio/workshop-exhibition with artist Ulrich Sack-Bernstiel (www.ulrich-sack.com) at Tewel-Moor, Lower-Saxony.

2010 Exhibition at the Otto- Rohse -Presse, Hamburg;
participation at the exhibition “Bauhaus Wohnmodelle” at the Rauch Museum, Freudenberg.
Exhibition with Ulrich Sack at the Otto-Haesler -Haus, Celle.
2011 Group exhibition: four generation ceramics (Ulrike Könecke, Lutz Könecke, Maria Hokema) Galerie und Forum für Angewandte Kunst, Schwäbisch Gmünd;
permanent display at the Galerie Dr. Jochim in the Haesler-Haus, Celle.
2013 The Dortmund Museum for Art and Cultural History acquires several pieces.
2016 Purchase by Ceramik-Museum Bürgel (Thüringen)
